Made up from eight meadows, Cloatley in northern Wiltshire is a place for wildflowers such as vetchling, pignut, betony, heath spotted orchid, bee orchid, and the insects that live in this habitat.
When we visited Cloatley Meadow on an August evening, there were several buzzards that could be seen flying around and perched in the hedgerow trees that separate the different meadows, and owls could be heard screeching nearby.
Please note that this reserve is not suitable for push chairs and wheelchairs.
The land is grazed by cattle at certain times of the year, so livestock may be present at times.
