Just outside of Lechlade, on the edge of the eastern section of the Cotswold Water Park, Roundhouse Lake Nature Reserve, managed by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, is a former gravel pit which has been turned into a habitat for fresh water animals.

From the bird hide at the lake you are likely to see swans, common terns, black headed gulls, great crested grebe and tufted duck, and possibly a flash of blue from a kingfisher.

For the extremely lucky, you may see cuckoos and otters.

There is no car park for this reserve, though it is in within walking distance or the car park at Whelford Pools, the Coln Country Park, or Lechlade. These parking places can still take a bit of time to walk from, so you may want to cycle to the reserve. There is a bicycle rack at the reserve so you can lock up your bike if needed.

Due to it's distance from a car park, it people with reduced mobility may struggle to get to the site, though the bird hide does have a ramp to access it.
