The county also covers parts of three different areas of outstanding natural beauty and contains part of the Ridgeway trial, making it a great destination for walkers.

One of the largest site managed by the Berkshire Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, Chimney Meadows sits on the river Thames and is an excellent place for a riverside walk.

Chinnor Hill

Alongside the Ridgeway on the Oxfordshire Buckinghamshire border, Chinnor Hill is a mix of grassland, scrub and woodland, which has magnificent views over the Vale of Aylesbury.

Warburg Nature Reserve

Deep in the Chiltern Hills, this nature reserve has plenty of wildlife and plants for visitors to enjoy. You are likely to see red kites soaring above you. At ground level there are 15 species of orchid, and 900 species of fungi which can be found in this reserves micro climate.
